Trea Turner (hamstring) to serve short rehab stint before joining Nationals

Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring) will head out on a short minor league rehab assignment before returning to the active roster.

What It Means:

Turner has been out since April 8 with a right hamstring strain, so the Nationals want him to get back into the groove of things a bit before slotting him back onto the active roster. Wilmer Difo will continue to replace Turner at short.

As of now, numberFire's models project Turner to hit .297 across 613 plate appearances over the remainder of the season with 19 home runs, 65 RBI's and 44 stolen bases.
