Mets have Michael Conforto starting in center and leading off on Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto will start in center field and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Manager Terry Collins is giving usual centerfielder Curtis Granderson the night off while giving Conforto his fourth start of the season. With Granderson struggling, the 24-year-old outfielder has a chance to earn some extra playing time if he can produce.
Conforto is batting .353/.409/.765 with two home runs, six RBI's and five runs scored in only 22 plate appearances so far this season.
