Indians' Jason Kipnis (shoulder) nearing season debut

Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis (shoulder) could be activated from the disabled list as soon as Friday in a "best case scenario," said manager Terry Francona.

What It Means:

Kipnis had to put his rehab assignment on hold last week when he was hit by a pitch on his left hand. He's gone just 3-for-13 with five strikeouts and no walks so far in the minor league play, so the Braves might want to see some improvement first, but Kipnis will make his 2017 debut in the near future.

numberFire's metrics project Kipnis to record a .274 batting average this season while tallying 13 home runs, 68 RBI's and 14 stolen bases.
