Braves hopeful Tyler Flowers (hamstring) can return this week
Atlanta Braves catcher Tyler Flowers (hamstring) reported improvement Monday and the there is optimism that he will be available to return in a few days.
There was some initial belief Flowers would require a stint on the disabled list, but it sounds like he may be able to avoid it after straining his right hamstring during Sunday's contest. Kurt Suzuki will start behind the plate for Atlanta in the meantime.
Flowers has been connecting well at the dish with a .407 batting average (11-for-27) so far in 2017. That's a significant improvement from last year's career-best .270 clip.
