New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner is not in the lineup Monday against the Chicago White Sox.
Gardner is just getting a breather tonight against left-hander Derek Holland and the White Sox. Aaron Hicks will replace him in left field and bat second in the order for New York.
Gardner is slashing .220/.347/.268 across 49 plate appearances this season with five stolen bases, but his 24.5 strikeout percentage is currently on pace for a new unwanted career-high.
