Zach Britton (forearm) placed on the 10-day disabled list by the Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles placed relief pitcher Zach Britton on the 10-day disabled list with a left forearm strain, retroactive to April 15.

What It Means:

Britton felt soreness in his forearm after throwing a curveball in Friday's appearance. Baltimore hopes to have their All-Star closer back when he is eligible to return on April 25, but it is unclear if the injury is minor or a sign of something more severe. Set-up man Brad Brach will likely assume the closing duties until Britton returns.

Britton owns a 1.29 ERA, 1.86 WHIP, .345 opponents' batting average and five saves in seven innings pitched this season.
