Twins give struggling Byron Buxton Monday off
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in Monday's lineup versus the Cleveland Indians.
Buxton could use the day off after going a brutal 4-for-43 to open the year. The Twins will start Max Kepler in center field while Robbie Grossman mans right. Miguel Sano is serving as the designated hitter and Eduardo Escobar is on the hot corner. On the mound for Cleveland will be right-hander Danny Salazar.
Buxton owns a .093/.152/.140 slash this season while leading the majors with 23 strikeouts and an absolutely miserable 50.0 strikeout percentage in his first 46 plate appearances of the 2017 campaign.
