Boston's Rick Porcello gets blasted for eight runs on Friday

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello was rocked for eight runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.

What It Means:

Porcello gave up four home runs which is a career-worst for the veteran and to make matters worse one of them was a grand slam. The Rays made quick work of the defending AL Cy Young winner after Brad Miller and Steve Souza went back-to-back in the fifth inning, which ended Porcello's night.

Our models project Porcello to post a 3.51 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 142 strikeouts over 179.7 innings remaining this season.
