Brett Gardner back for Yankees following Wednesday's collision
New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner is back in the starting lineup Friday versus the St. Louis Cardinals after leaving Wednesday's game following a collision at first base.
Gardner missed Thursday's contest with a bruised neck and jaw. He'll start in left field and hit leadoff for the Yankees versus right-hander Michael Wacha and the Cardinals.
Gardner is slashing .258/.343/.323 across 35 plate appearances this season with a pair of doubles and five stolen bases, but his 22.9 strikeout percentage is currently on pace for a new unwanted career-high.
