Toronto expected to place Josh Donaldson (calf) on disabled list
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) is expected to need a stint on the disabled list, reports Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Donaldson missed time in spring training with a calf injury that he aggravated on Sunday and then again on Thursday. His timetable is uncertain, but it's unfortunately not going to be a short-term fix. Darwin Barney and Ryan Goins figure to split time at the hot corner for Toronto while Donaldson is out.
Through nine games, Donaldson is slashing .310/.429/.586 with a pair of home runs and four RBI's in 35 plate appearances.
