Cubs' Hector Rondon (knee) undergoes MRI

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Hector Rondon underwent an MRI on his left knee on Thursday.

What It Means:

Rondon hurt his knee in a collision at home plate during Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It looked serious, and he'll likely miss some extended time, but we'll have a better idea of the extent of the injury when the MRI results become available on Thursday night.

Before the injury, numberFire's models project Rondon for a 3.06 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 56 innings over the remainder of the season. A lengthy absence will obviously sharply cut down on his projected innings pitched.
