Mets optimistic Harvey can make next start

New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey (hamstring) is expected to make his next scheduled start, manager Terry Collins said late Tuesday in an expression of optimism.

What It Means:

Harvey was lifted from the sixth inning on Tuesday due to tightness in his left hamstring while running to cover first base, but the Mets already had the victory well in hand and it's not believed to be a long-term concern. He's currently scheduled to take the mound this weekend against the Miami Marlins.

Through two starts in 2017, Harvey is 2-0 with a 2.92 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 22.2 strikeout percentage (10 punchouts) across 12 1/3 innings.
