Oakland gets seven shutout frames from Jharel Cotton
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Jharel Cotton delivered seven shutout innings Monday in the A's 2-0 blanking of the Kansas City Royals.
Cotton was masterful, allowing just two hits and three walks while striking out six. The performance showed the potential the 25-year-old right-hander possesses and was a nice bounce back game from his disappointing five-run performance in his 2017 season debut. He will try to keep it rolling versus the Houston Astros this weekend.
Cotton owns a 1-1 record, 3.97 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 10 punchouts in 11.1 innings pitched this season.
