Buster Posey leaves Giants' game after taking fast ball to helmet

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey departed Monday's game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks after being hit on the helmet by a pitch.

What It Means:

Posey was beaned on the side of his helmet by a 94 miles-per-hour fastball that immediately sent him to the floor. Hopefully, it's not a long-term issue, but Nick Hundley will take over backstop duties for San Francisco while Posey is in the concussion protocol.

Posey is 7-for-21 (.333/.481/.571 slash) in the season's early goings with one tater, four runs scored and two RBI's in 27 plate appearances.
