Yankees expect Gary Sanchez (biceps) to miss four weeks
New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Monday that catcher Gary Sanchez is expected to miss four weeks with a Grade 1 strain of a muscle behind his right biceps.
The four-week timetable would put Sanchez back in the Yankees lineup, somewhere around mid-May. A tough blow for fantasy owners as the catcher position is mighty shallow at the moment. Austin Romine will fill in for New York, behind the plate, while Sanchez recovers.
Romine batted .242/.269/.382 with 4 home runs, 26 RBI's, and 17 runs scored in 176 plate appearances for the Yankees last season.
