Astros' Lance McCullers strikes out 10 Royals on Sunday

Houston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers took a no-decision in Sunday's 5-4, 12-inning win over the Kansas City Royals, fanning 10 while allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings.

What It Means:

McCullers was in the zone all game long -- throwing 65 of his 98 pitches for strikes -- perhaps a little too much as he gave up two home runs as well. The pitcher, who was limited to just 16 starts in 2016, is off to a great start in 2017 with 17 punchouts in 13 innings and a 2.77 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.

Our models project McCullers for 11 wins, a 3.49 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 172 strikeouts in 149 2/3 innings the rest of the year.
