Blue Jays' Roberto Osuna (neck) on track for Tuesday
Toronto Blue Jays reliever Roberto Osuna (neck) remains on track to be activated from the disabled list when first eligible Tuesday.
Osuna threw a 24-pitch simulated game Saturday and felt great. "I think I’ll be ready by Tuesday," said Osuna. "I might throw a little around (this weekend), just to make sure I’ll be 100% on Tuesday. But definitely no issues, no more pain in my neck or back, feeling great." Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said that Osuna will immediately resume his closing duties upon activation.
Osuna is projected to record 34 saves this season while twirling a 3.26 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 28.4 strikeout percentage across 69 innings, according to numberFire's models.
