Nomar Mazara hits grand slam, drives in six for Rangers

Texas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara had a monster night at the dish in Friday’s 10-5 victory over the Oakland Athletics, going 3-for-5 with a grand slam and a career-high six RBI.

What It Means:

The grand slam — which was part of a five-run second inning for Texas — was the first of his career. Mazara started out hot after his call-up last year and he’s kept it going in four contests this year, with multi-hit games in all of them. He's loving life as the Rangers' third-spot hitter.

Mazara is hitting .588 with two homers and nine RBI (17 plate appearances) through his first four games this season. Our models project him to hit .252 with 16 homers and 60 RBI in 540 more plate appearances in 2017.
