Mookie Betts (flu) out of Red Sox's lineup versus Pittsburgh
Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts (illness) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Betts will join teammate Brock Holt on the shelf as they both battle the flu. Consider the pair day-to-day. Chris Young is going to start in right and bat sixth while Xander Bogaerts will move up to the third spot in Boston's order after hitting sixth in the opener. Pittsburgh is sending right-hander Jameson Taillon to the mound.
Bogaerts spent most of his time out of the three-hole in 2016, where he slashed .315/.367/.474 across 482 plate appearances with 15 home runs and 68 RBI's.
