Felix Hernandez

Mariners confident Felix Hernandez (groin) will be fine for Saturday

Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez (calf) is expected to make his next scheduled start Saturday against the Los Angeles Angels, according to general manager Jerry Dipoto.

What It Means:

Hernandez tweaked his groin during Monday's Opening Day start, forcing him to make an exit after five frames. He was still experiencing tightness Tuesday, but it sounds like there isn't much concern.

numberFire's models currently project Hernandez to give up 6.1 hits and 2.8 earned runs over 6 innings Saturday while striking out 4.3 batters and walking 2.1 versus the Angels.
