Blake Treinen OUT

Blake Treinen notches save in Nationals' Opening Day victory

Washington Nationals relief pitcher Blake Treinen tossed a perfect ninth inning against the Miami Marlins on Monday for his first save of the season.

What It Means:

Treinen struck out two Marlins as he needed just 17 pitches to set the three batters he faced down in order. The 28-year-old's hold on the closer position in Washington is not very tight, but more outings like his first one will go a long way to Treinen holding on to the job.

Our models project Treinen for 20 saves with a 3.27 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP in 55 innings pitched.
