Reds place Billy Hamilton (shoulder) on disabled list

The Cincinnati Reds have placed outfielder Billy Hamilton on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury.

What It Means:

Hamilton jammed the shoulder making a play in the 11th inning of Tuesday's game against the Royals. Skip Schumaker and Jason Bourgeois could see the biggest increase in playing time in center while Hamilton is out.

It might not hurt for Hamilton to just hit the reset button on the season. Prior to the injury, he had compiled a .226/.272/.290 slash and had been hitting ninth in the order most nights. Even with the struggles, Hamilton was only three steals away from eclipsing last year's total of 56.
