Michael Brantley (shoulder) opening year on Indians' active roster

Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley (shoulder) will be part of the club's Opening Day roster, manager Terry Francona confirmed Friday.

What It Means:

Brantley was limited to 11 games last season and is working his way back from two separate operations, one on his right shoulder and one on his right biceps, so the Braves brought him along slowly this spring. He's progressing nicely, but Brantley's health remains a major risk heading into the 2017 season and he figures to miss a handful of games early on.

numberFire's algorithms project Brantley to hit .290 across 451 plate appearances this upcoming season while recording 12 home runs, 62 RBI's and 10 stolen bases.
