Pirates' Gregory Polanco (shoulder) scheduled for game action Friday
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (shoulder) is scheduled to play in a game on Friday.
Polanco got in 10 at-bats and threw from a distance of 90 feet while working on the minor league side of the Pirates' spring training complex on Wednesday. He's been bothered by discomfort in his left shoulder in recent days, but it sounds like the 25-year-old right fielder will be ready for opening day. After combining for 16 home runs over his first 964 plate appearances, Polanco burst out with 22 taters in 2016 (587 plate appearances).
Polanco is projected for 18 moon shots, 71 RBI's and 18 stolen bases across 576 plate appearances this upcoming season, based on numberFire's models.
