Mets' Jeurys Familia will be suspended 15 games
New York Mets reliever Jeurys Familia will receive a 15-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball's domestic violence policy, reports Billy Witz of the New York Times.
Familia will first be eligible to join the Mets on April 20. In the meantime, Addison Reed will be in charge of closing duties.
Prior to the suspension being handed down, numberFire's metrics projected Familia to record 37 saves in 2017 while posting a 2.74 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 24.5 strikeout percentage.
