Yankees remain undecided on right field starter
New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi revealed on Tuesday that he hasn't decided yet whether Aaron Judge or Aaron Hicks will be the starter in right field.
Tuesday's lineup, which has Hicks starting in right field, could be a telling sign, as Girardi indicated it would be similar to the one he uses on Opening Day. Judge was believed to be the favorite heading into spring and he certainly hasn't disappointed (.321/.390/.509 with two home runs), but Girardi may want to start the 24-year-old off in the minors for his first second year in the big leagues. Hicks has also been solid this spring with a .286/.375/.571 slash and three taters.
With the roster still unsettled, numberFire's projections expect Judge to hit .239 with 19 home runs and 48 RBI's over 383 plate appearances. Hicks is pegged for a .238 batting average over 357 plate appearances with 8 home runs and 33 RBI's.
