Padres sending Jhoulys Chacin to the mound for opener
San Diego Padres pitcher Jhoulys Chacin will start Opening Day.
Chacin appears to be the best option available for a Padres club that has arguably the worst rotation in baseball. Clayton Richard and Jered Weaver are next up after Chacin, but expect there to be plenty of movement in and out all season.
numberFire's models project Chacin to record a 4.11 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 17.0 strikeout percentage across 148 2/3 innings this upcoming season.
