Hyun-Jin Ryu will be part of the Dodgers' rotation

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu will be part of the team's rotation.

What It Means:

Ryu will slot into the fourth spot behind Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill and Kenta Maeda. That leaves Brandon McCarthy and Alex Wood left to battle for the fifth and final spot. The 30-year-old Ryu spent the majority of the last two seasons on the disabled list as he battled elbow and shoulder injuries. However, he appears healthy and is coming off a strong spring showing.

numberFire's models projected Ryu for a 3-6 record, 4.16 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in only 84 1/3 innings pitched before the southpaw earned a spot in the 2017 rotation.
