Rays' Corey Dickerson likely to bat leadoff against righties

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Corey Dickerson will likely open the season as the team's leadoff hitter in matchups with right-handed pitchers, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

What It Means:

Dickerson owns some extreme platoon splits, having slashed .246/.297/.510 with a .334 wOBA against righties in 2016, compared to .241/.274/.315 with a .259 wOBA against lefties. Moving to the top of the order against righties would give him a bump in plate appearances, helping his fantasy value this year.

numberFire's models project Dickerson to hit .261 with 22 home runs, 58 runs scored and 71 RBI's in 507 plate appearances this season.
