Indians and Jose Ramirez agree to $26M extension
The Cleveland Indians and third baseman/outfielder Jose Ramirez have reached an agreement on a four-year, $26 million contract extension, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.
The deal includes two team options that could keep Ramirez with the Tribe until 2023. The options also boost the value of the deal up to $50 million over six years. Ramirez hit .312 with 11 home runs, 76 RBI's, and 22 steals in 2016.
Our models project Ramirez for a .287 batting average with 10 home runs, 63 RBI's, 19 steals, and 77 runs scored in 569 plate appearances in 2017.
