Jose Quintana named Opening Day starter for White Sox
The Chicago White Sox named pitcher Jose Quintana the starter for Opening Day.
After the White Sox dealt Chris Sale this offseason, Quintana became the obvious choice for first day duties. The 28-year-old left-hander has made at least 32 starts in four consecutive seasons for the pale hose, putting up a 3.35 ERA in that span.
Quintana is expected to go 12-11 across 200 innings this upcoming season, according to numberFire's models, who project him to twirl a 3.65 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 21.8 strikeout percentage.
