Red Sox have yet to clear David Price (elbow) to start throwing

Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price still needs to regain strength in his injured left elbow before resuming a full throwing program.

What It Means:

Price visited the team orthopedist on Tuesday, and while everything still looks good structurally in his elbow, he needs to regain some strength in his throwing arm before moving to more intense throwing. Price remains without a timetable and is guaranteed to start the season on the disabled list.

Without yet accounting for the expected missed time, numberFire's algorithms project Price to go 14-10 while recording a 3.41 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 24.7 strikeout percentage across 214 innings in 2017. He's the 12th-ranked fantasy pitcher overall.
