Rockies' David Dahl diagnosed with a stress reaction in rib

Colorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl has been diagnosed with a stress reaction of his sixth rib and will be reevaluated in two weeks.

What It Means:

Dahl had been suffering from what was called back soreness, but after extensive testing, the rib injury was discovered. The two-week timetable will likely put Dahl in danger of being ready for opening day. Gerardo Parra will start the season as the Rockies everyday left fielder until Dahl is ready to play. Parra had a down year for Colorado in 2016, hitting just .253 with seven home runs in 368 at-bats.

Dahl hit .315 with seven home runs in 222 at-bats his rookie season last year.
