Rangers shut down Andrew Cashner with a biceps injury
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Andrew Cashner has been shut down due to biceps tendinitis.
According to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, the team still thinks there's a chance Cashner will still be ready for the start of the season, but that is now up in the air. He felt some pain during a bullpen session earlier in the week and he will have an appointment with Dr. Keith Meister either Thursday or Friday to ensure the injury isn't serious.
Our models project Cashner to post a 4.88 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP with 111 strikeouts over 151.1 innings in 2017.
