Rangers' Josh Hamilton to have left knee examined
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton will have his left knee examined in Houston on Wednesday after feeling something while running on Tuesday.
This is the same knee that required surgery last June to repair an ACL injury, in addition to arterial and meniscus cartilage, so this isn't a good sign. Hamilton didn't play at all in the majors last season and he's competed in only 139 games since Opening Day in 2014. Another significant injury may force the 34-year-old to call it a career.
Hamilton slashed .260/.318/.423 across the 2014 and 2015 seasons (563 plate appearances) while tallying 18 home runs and 69 RBI's. He posted a 28.4 strikeout percentage over that span -- well above his 21.6 career-average.
