Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson (calf) expected to miss 2-3 weeks
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) was walking around on crutches Sunday and is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks.
Donaldson suffered a strained right calf while running on Friday. He should be fine for Opening Day as long as he can avoid a setback, but the Blue Jays will obviously take a cautious approach with their star third baseman. Donaldson has played at least 155 games each of the last four seasons.
Across 700 plate appearances in 2016, Donaldson cranked 37 home runs, 99 RBI's, and slashed .284/.404/.549 with 15.6 percent walk rate and 17.0 percent strikeout rate.
