Orioles J.J. Hardy undergoes MRI, CT scan on back
Baltimore Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy underwent an MRI on his lower back on Thursday and a CT scan on Friday.
Hardy was thought to be dealing with a minor illness, but apparently he's facing something more consequential. More will be known about his timetable when the test results are known.
Hardy slashed .269/.309/.407 with a .307 wOBA across 438 plate appearances last season. He added nine home runs and 48 RBI's while dropping his strikeout rate to 15.5 percent, down from 20.1 percent in 2015.
