Mike Napoli, Rangers finalize $8.5 million deal
The Texas Rangers signed first baseman Mike Napoli to a one-year, $8.5 million contract with an $11 million club option for 2018.
Napoli passed his physical on Wednesday to make the deal official after it was previously agreed upon this month. This will be Napoli's third stint in Texas after he spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons there, as well as the second half of the 2015 campaign.
Napoli slashed .239/.335/.465 with a .343 wOBA across 645 plate appearances last season with the Cleveland Indians. His 34 home runs, 101 RBI's and 92 runs scored were all career-best marks.
