Miami Marlins first baseman Justin Bour will be an everyday player this season, manager Don Mattingly said on Monday.
"We think there’s a lot in the tank with this guy," Mattingly said Monday. "He brings fear to the lineup." Bour has typically been part of a platoon due to his struggles against left-handed pitching for his career (.223/.273/.291). "This is a guy who has an opportunity," Mattingly said. "We think he’s getting better."
Bour slashed .264/.349/.475 with a .343 wOBA across 321 plate appearances last season. He tallied 15 home runs and 51 RBI's.
