Sergio Romo to sign with Dodgers, pending physical
The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $3M deal with free agent right-handed relief pitcher Sergio Romo, pending him passing a physical.
Romo comes over from National League West rivals, the San Francisco Giants. While he has closing experience, the 33-year-old spent the last two seasons as a setup man and is expected to fulfill the same role in Los Angeles in front of Kenley Jansen. He tossed only 30.2 innings due to an elbow injury in 2016.
Romo owns 84 career saves with a 2.58 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 439.2 innings.
