Astros demote Jon Singleton to Triple-A
Houston Astros first baseman Jon Singleton has been sent outright to Triple-A Fresno.
Singleton passed through waivers unclaimed, so he's still part of the organization, but is no longer on the Astros' 40-man roster. The 24-year-old simply hasn't lived up to expectations and Houston doesn't seem confident that he'll turn it around.
The former top prospect recorded a .171/.290/.331 slash across 420 plate appearances in two seasons for Houston, but spent all of this past year at Triple-A.
