Free agent reliever Kenley Jansen is drawing serious interest from the Miami Marlins, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
According to Heyman, the Marlins are considering "putting together a super pen," rather than upgrading their starting rotation. Miami's starters recorded a 4.32 ERA last season, which ranked 19th in baseball. The 29-year-old Jansen reportedly wants around $100 million.
Jansen was superb with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016, turning in a 1.83 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 41.4 strikeout percentage across 68 2/3 innings of work.
