Atlanta also keen on Athletics' Sonny Gray, Rays' Chris Archer
The Atlanta Braves have asked about Oakland Athletics pitcher Sonny Gray and Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer, in addition to Chicago White Sox southpaw Chris Sale, reports Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
The Braves are moving into their new stadium in 2017, so they would like to bring in an exciting arm this offseason. Gray was marred by injury last season, so Oakland might not want to move him at his current market value. Archer is under team control until 2021.
Gray recorded a 5.69 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 18.2 strikeout percentage across 117 innings of work last season. Archer turned in a 4.02 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 27.4 strikeout percentage in 201 1/3 frames.
