New York Mets infielder Neil Walker has accepted his one-year, $17.2 million qualifying offer.
Walker joins Jeremy Hellickson as the only two players (out of 10) to accept qualifying offers from their clubs. He's 31 and coming off back surgery, so this was a wise decision for Walker, who will look for a more lucrative multi-year deal after the 2017 campaign.
Walker batted .282/.347/.476 with a .351 wOBA across 458 plate appearances last season. He knocked 23 sluggers with 55 RBI's.
