Chris Sale on multiple club's radars if White Sox decide to rebuild

The Washington Nationals are "among the latest teams" to inquire about Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

What It Means:

The White Sox haven't had any "serious" trade discussions about Sale, per Nightengale, but the Nationals will be among the interested if/when that time comes. The ace southpaw would yield a massive haul of prospects and the White Sox have implied that they're going to be rebuilding this offseason, so things seem to be lining up for an eventual deal.

Sale recorded a 3.34 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 25.7 strikeout percentage across 226 2/3 innings last season. His 2.95 nERD was a career-best.
