The Indians have traded Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher to the Braves in exchange for Chris Johnson.
Swisher, Bourn, and Johnson have all been far below average at the plate this year as they are producing a nERD of -0.64, -1.06, and -0.68 respectively. We're not expecting any of the players to bounce back at all this year either. Our rest of season projections predict Swisher will have .248 wOBA, while Bourn has a .275 wOBA, and Johnson has a .255 wOBA.
Given the caliber of production in this trade, it will likely have a negligible impact for both teams this year. The Braves currently have 0.1% chance of making the playoffs while the Indians chances sit at 2.1%, per our algorithm.
