Mark Trumbo expected to find plenty of suitors on open market

Outfielder/first baseman Mark Trumbo's free agent market is "bustling," according to Yahoo's Jeff Passan.

What It Means:

It was believed that Trumbo might accept a one-year $17.2 million qualifying offer from the Baltimore Orioles, but that's no longer an expected outcome. At 30-years-old, Trumbo is younger than the other impact hitters on the market, so he should be in for a major payout this winter. His defense in the outfield is a concern, but plenty of clubs are going to be interested after the slugger led the MLB with 47 home runs last season.

Trumbo slashed .256/.316/.533 with a .358 wOBA and .277 ISO last season, of which the latter two were both career-highs. He added a career-best 108 RBI's across 667 plate appearances as well.
