Braves, Bartolo Colon agree to deal
The Atlanta Braves have signed pitcher Bartolo Colon, pending a physical, reports Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports first reported that Colon had signed with a new club. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports says it's a one-year deal worth $12.5 million. It appeared that 42-year-old R.A. Dickey would be the elder statesman in the Braves' bullpen after signing with the club on Thursday, but the 43-year-old Colon will now hold that title.
Across 191 2/3 innings in 2016, Colon recorded a 3.43 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 16.2 strikeout percentage for the New York Mets.
