White Sox sign John Mayberry Jr.
After being released by the Mets, John Mayberry Jr. has been signed by the Chicago White Sox and assigned to Triple-A Charlotte.
What It Means:
With the Mets, Mayberry was hitting .164 with a .244 wOBA and a -0.71 nERD. He has been highly regarded as a lefty-killer throughout his career, but was only hitting to a .273 wOBA against them this season. The White Sox will likely see how he does in the minors and possibly give him a chance in the majors come September.
