Astros' Colby Rasmus went under knife to address core, hip issues
Houston Astros outfielder Colby Rasmus underwent surgery on October 18 to repair his core muscle and to shave down a bone spur and repair his left hip labrum, reports Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.
Rasmus was shut down in the last week of the season with what was believed to be a hip/groin issue. Per Davidi, Rasmus will be back to 100 percent for spring training, but it's a less than ideal start to free agency for the 30-year-old outfielder.
Rasmus turned in a disappointing 2016 campaign, hitting .206/.286/.355 with 15 home runs and 54 RBI's over 417 plate appearances this season.
